Primarily we are tasked with missions by the secretary of the Air Force, we are a "force expander" and historically we have done some amazing things.
Opportunities to provide assistance (thankfully) do not come very often; but when they do our members must be prepared to answer the call for anyone who needs assistance.
The training required varies depending on what you choose to focus on. Ground crews, air crews, or various support roles all need filled by qualified personnel. On a national, regional or wing level our organization can easily fill all the required roles to implement a successful incident command system and respond to calls for help. Groups and Squadrons often need to work together as it is unlikely they will have the sheer number of trained people needed to provide an unassisted response; this is why it is vital to continue to recruit, train and work with your other local CAP units any chance you get.
