CAP in Schools

This information is aimed at educators and administrators of schools who want some examples of what our unit has done in our local schools. Images and videos are generally created by the student who attends or a staff member of the school.   Here is a folder showing off our STEM Fair capabilities:   We ran 11 different interactive table events, brought in 3 branches of the military, police, fire, EMT, colleges, local public schools and various clubs who set up interactive displays.  One of our goals is to help the county develop a large STEAM fair where all the schools can collaborate on a huge yearly event that can draw big crowds and tons of excitement!

What our displays (might) look like:

Two table display-requires 3 staff minimum

Neshannock:

We were invited to take over a (Gym) classroom one day; we brought some cadets in with a large variety of STEM kits.   Our cadets provided a short introduction to our program, we flew UAV's in small groups and offered rides on our (leaf blower powered) Hoverboard.  We did a few lunch visits and our cadets used their microphone system to talk about our cadet program.  We visited a few classrooms and spoke with a handful of teachers about our STEM program.

Shenango:

We flew small quadcopters in their school lunch room over a few visits; allowing staff and students the opportunity to get a mini aerospace lesson.   We have set up a Flight simulator in their STEM lab and their AEM has been enjoying the use of a couple UAV's he ordered as one of his kits.

We currently have four cadets attending this school, we have about 10 that have previously graduated from this district.  Our friends in the Army and Air Force have been helping to support their AEM with his class activities as well.
